Mine, for example, had 755 email addresses. Some were given name, some last, but most of them had only e-mail addresses. One of the reasons for this is that I chose the option to automatically add the email address of a person who sends me an email (I have since disabled this option). I also found many duplicates and the people that I did not even knowledge, a fortiori contact.

Now, you can just arrow down through each e-mail address, deletion or amendment that you are going.

To remove an E-mail address:

> >, click on the “person” as the highlight and click Delete at the top of the screen or the delete key on your keyboard.

To edit an E-mail address:

> > double click on the “person” and click on the tab name to modify any information.

Now you can be like me and don’t want to sit across the computer screen to modify, and delete, although you may need to do so. When I was cleaning mine, I was getting ready to go to the doctors where I knew I had to sit and wait. So I exported my address book, printed it out and made my editing on paper while sitting in doctors. When I returned to my Office, I just went through my revised list, deleting and editing of my address book on the screen.

To export your address book:

> > in your e-mail program, click file and click Export > > click on address book > > click on the text (comma separated values) file > > click Export > > click Browse (it is to locate the folder that you will store in;) I use the TEST, and assign a name. (I use the address book) > > click on save

Now go and open the new file, it will be in EXCEL, adjust the columns, and print.

NETSCAPE users:

Basically, you use the same steps to sort as a user of Outlook Express; However, the wording is slightly different:

> > click on Communicator > >, click the address book you will have more columns and you can even add more columns to sort on by clicking on the arrows side at the bottom of your address book. You can also use the view. I have seen an export feature in Netscape.

AOL users:

I used the AOL account growing a friend to check AOL e-mail functions and find that e-mail addresses have been already sorted in the order. I found a way to sort or export. However, you can modify, and delete.

ACT! users:

Then a program of mail, but you can sort by clicking on edit, then click on sort. You can sort your people up to three different ways, either in ascending or descending order. Export, go to file, click on the exchange of data, click on export and follow the instructions in the wizard.

Organization of mass e-mails:

If you find that you must send the same e-mail message to many people all the time, as a team or Committee you are, you can put them in a group (Outlook Express, AOL, and ACT!), or list (Netscape) so that you don’t not to seek or to type email address all the time.

Create a group in Outlook Express:

> > open your e-mail program > >, click on tools > > click on address book > > click New and then click new group name your group (this is what you type in the TO: when you want to send the same E-mail all). Now just follow the instructions on the screen and start adding people that you want to be in this group.

AOL, ACT!, and Netscape programs have similar steps to create groups. If you use one of these programs, see their help if you need help in the creation of groups.

I found that most E-Mail programs contains basic functions for the Organization of your email addresses; However, it would be almost impossible to try to include them all here.
